I am currently studying teacher training with Chloe Fremantle and continuing to work closely with Jackie Barker, Pete Blackaby and John Stirk who are taking the practice into new realms with their passion for the art and science. I have been practising yoga for six years including two years as a member of the BWY, working as a student with Jackie.
I have recently completed an academic doctorate for which I have been researching for the last eight years in education, where I have been working as a teacher and now a manager. Studying for my first degree at Westminster University in English and History as a mature student was the beginning of 18 years study. I passed my Post Graduate Degree in Teaching English at London University where I soon returned to study on a Master’s Degree course to further my teaching practice and gain knowledge of Literature and Language in Education, whilst working in my second Comprehensive school. I was later accepted to begin a research Doctorate Degree at Brunel University which due to a move by my Professor, I have recently completed at Nottingham and Trent University.
My interest has always focussed with disaffection in education and which I am now moving on to a more holistic area with the practice of yoga. Where I have always supported my students in their progression through Literature and Language, I am now engaged in supporting physical well being through yoga. I have four of my own children, one step son in Grenada and two granddaughters, all of whom keep me very active. Travelling is my passion and I intend to combine this in the future with the teaching of yoga. |
